ANDY LEWIS is also a member of The Red Inspectors, Pimlico and Thee Cee Cees (who have recently released their critically acclaimed debut album). Andy is best known for playing with Drugstore, Spearmint, and DJing for Blur, in various clubs, and on occasion filling in for Eddie Piller on his Soho Radio Eclectic Soul Show, capitalising on previous radio presenting experience.
Signed to Piller's Acid Jazz label as a solo artist since 2005, Andy has had a number of albums and singles out, most notably the full length albums 'Billion Pound Project' and 'You Should Be Hearing Something Now!', the mini-LP '41' and an array of singles like '(Love Is) Alive In My Heart' with Keni Burke on vocals and 'Are You Trying to Be Lonely?' released with Paul Weller- both of these singles coming from his second full-length LP. Interestingly, the collaboration with Weller also included drums by a certain Mr Steve Cradock...
Lewis can be heard live singing the introduction to Long Time. (See 'Later... Live' with Jools Holland). Andy is also a keen aviator when not writing, singing, playing bass and guitar, DJing and presenting! Follow the links below to find out more, or search the individual names of Andy Lewis' other ventures to see information about them. Always writing, recording and remixing, Andy is quite fond of releasing demos and finished songs on the Bandcamp website (below).
If you like Andy, his fellow Red Inspector Pete Twyman, who has in the past played keys on stage with Paul Weller, may be of interest. He has also released music as part of 'Lewis, Doyle and Twyman' alongside Andy and Wesley Doyle. The mini-LP which was partially recorded at Weller's Black Barn Studio, entitled 'Get Ready!' can be found by searching on Bandcamp. Also, download 'The Best of Days' by Andy Lewis and Wesley Doyle, available in all good download outlets and as a 7" single from the Acid Jazz store, where you can find some physical copies of Andy's other 'solo' work including his two full length albums and The Red Inspectors' solitary LP on vinyl or CD, well worth a listen too.
